Good times bad times

My time at the boutique has come to an end for my coop program. I was offered a job at Andie’s where I can further my experience and develop new learning opportunities. I am very excited to join in the summer and continue to work in such a great business. The thing I love most about Andy’s is the variety of clothing it has for a variety of ages. Grandmothers will come in with her granddaughter and both will come out satisfied with a new outfit for their closet. The store is amazing for any of occasion and any event that you have, without a doubt and our help you walk out of the store with a smile.

Going classic

Accessorizing with pearls is always a classic move that never fails to impress or play up an outfit. The old Hollywood aesthetic will likely never go out of style due to the sweet, simple and elegant look. To go classy and casual you can pair a pearl necklace with a two piece denim outfit. Or add this quick grab accessory to any fancy outfit to create an eye catching element.

 Too much or Not enough??

Any outfit can go from dull to glam in the matter of seconds. In the photo above is a below the knee length dress with a touch of sequin. Sold at Andie’s boutique! Whether you’re having a date night, attending a wedding, or even grocery shopping, you name it! You can rock this gown.

Let’s start simple. How can we play this dress down? A lot of people at the boutique have fallen in love with this dress and often wear them to weddings. The questions and complaints are always the same, “how much wear will I get out of the dress?” Well to make the piece more casual, the idea should be to draw attention away from the most eye catching or fancy part. That would be the sequins in this case! You can do this by adding a belt around the waist line, a cute thin brown belt would add a different effect to the dress by playing simple. A look I’m dying to try with this dress to play it down is a blue denim jacket paired with rounded sunglasses that are Ozzy Osborne inspired, and a pair of black vans. Who’s with me?!! Ugh, so cute! To make an outfit  glamorous it’s important to keep in mind that simple can be more. Focussing on trying to do too much can overwhelm an outfit and result in a tacky look. The dress itself is enough as is! Trying a few rings and maybe a diamond chocker would create the glam look you’re going for without becoming a bling freak.

A pop of pattern

Adding a fun Texter or pattern can create such a luck to any piece of clothing. When considering a pattern, notice it’s slimming or filling qualities as well as if it makes you appear shorter or taller. Picking out the right outfit has a lot to do with the pattern! Each and every body type is different which is why the style tip of the day is to focus on what suits you best! Next time you’re out shopping consider what you would like to change or emphasize about your body shape and go from there!

For floral sake

What a blouse! This style piece was the first thing that caught my eye when the new orders in store arrived! A side note about myself, Im involved in a program at Andie’s boutique! Where I came across an exciting top. Such beautiful colour and detail go into the makings of this ready to wear blouse, easily paired with dark distressed denim jeans and white sandals or a fringe brown booty. For a fun and classy office look you can wear black dress pants or a dark pencil skirt along with a black fitted blazer. If you wanna add a little more fun to your look try paring this blouse with navy blue or camo green bottoms.

Breakfast at Andie’s…

Wear this during day or night and always win! Spring dresses have finally just come in! White wedges or a pair of your favourite black heels will help to pull together the look you’re trying to achieve. Perhaps you can add an exciting element to the outfit by pairing it with bright coloured shoes. Such as a red, yellow or fuscia heel. The effect would be amazing to try out leading into summer. To make the outfit even more fun and if the event is right, add a huge (almost obnoxious) hat that the loveliest luxurious of ladies would wear to the horse races.  This little black dress with an eye catch pop of colour and intriguing patter create the perfect spring attire. You can find this unique piece at Andie’s Boutique in Uptown Waterloo.

The perfect spring accessory

Spring is one my favourite seasons. (Aside from summer of course!) The flowers, the sun, and of course the fashion. This is a great time for the fashion industry. With all the fun colours and patterns that spring inspires, designers are always popping up with exciting new ideas. The outfit I must say, is the easy part. But how do we accessorize a glamorous spring outfit appropriately? Normally I’d suggest diamonds (because seriously you can never go wrong with diamonds!!!) or, anything bright & floral. After seeing this necklace I couldn’t believe how much fun you could have accessorizing the perfect outfit. Notice how the emerald green in the necklace shouts spring, it’s pretty & girly while still remaining monotoned. The gold chain adds a touch of taste and enhances the beauty of the jewels. Stunning piece!

For the love of denim…

I can’t stand how much I love these shoes!! They’re simple but yet such a statement. With these babies, you can go one way or another. Trying out denim on denim could be a fashion forward look, if done right! Perhaps a pairing of dark distressed jeans will do the trick. Or you can go simple by playing safe but cute with black or white bottoms. Seriously though, denim will never go out of style. $90 dollars at the bay? Worth it!
